FOCUS: THE HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM

 Introduction: The doctrine of Baptism of the Holy Spirit is very important to our Christian experience as the Sanctification is important as the second work of grace in our salvation experience. The baptism is a new experience for the saints of God.  It is indispensable for victorious Christian living of healing the sick, cast out the devils, living holy and evangelism. Mark 16:17

A.   SOME SALIENT TRUTHS

1. Baptism of the Holy Spirit is not a personal property of a particular church but the promise of God the Father to the believers. Luke 24:49

2. It is the password to unlock the realm of power ministry. Acts 1:8

3. The initial and authentic evidence of Holy Spirit baptism is speaking in tongues. Acts 2:4; Acts 10:44; Acts 11:15; Acts 19:1-6

4. It takes baptism of the Holy Spirit to unlock mysteries in the spirit realm. Jude 1:20

5. Your salvation experience is still standing on one leg if you have not be baptized by the Holy Spirit. Joel 2:28.

6. Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour couldn’t step into fullness of His ministry until after the Baptism of the Spirit. Acts 10:38

7. Every born again child of God (living holy) is ordained to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Mark 16:17; Acts 5:32.

B.   CONDITIONS FOR RECEIVING THE BAPTISM

  1. Repentance – John 14:16-17
  2. Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ – Heb. 11:6
  3. Thirsty for the Holy Spirit Baptism. Matt. 5:6
  4. Living a holy life. 1 Pet.1;15-16
