INTRODUCTION: We were told during the last teaching that steadfastness is one of the master keys to a glorious destiny. Among other things, the virtue of steadfastness is one of the major promoters and enhancers of destiny. If you are steadfast in your walk with God, you have defeated failure, poverty, rejection, and anything that can stop the destiny of a man. “Show me a man who is steadfast and I will present to you a man who will fulfil purpose”. May the Lord give us more understanding as we continue in this series today (Amen).
A. BENEFITS OF STEADFASTNESS ACCORDING TO RUTH’S EXPERIENCE
1. She found a NEW LORD – Ruth 1:16; Ruth 4:13, Ps 55:6, Ps 34:10, Deut. 4:29
2. She found a NEW JOY – Ruth 4:10; Isa. 12:3; Isa. 52:9; Isa. 51:11; John 15:11
3. She found a NEW DESTINY – Ruth 4:17; Matt. 4:19; Matt. 16:24
4. She found a NEW GLORY – There is a new glory for those who are committed to the God of Israel like Ruth. Rom. 8:30; 2 Tim. 1:12
5. She found a NEW FAITH – She was committed to a new faith by turning away from the gods of Moabites. Ruth 1:16-17; Mar. 11:22; 1 Pet. 1:5
6. She found a NEW LOVE – She committed her life to the love of God of Israel that fails not. Ruth 3:10; I Jn 4:19; Mar. 12:30; Lam. 3:22-23
7. She found a NEW LIFESTYLE – Ruth 1:16; 2 Cor. 5:17
B. THE DANGERS OF NOT BEING STEADFAST IN FAITH
- Backsliding is inevitable – Ruth 1:15; Mar. 13:15
- Backwardness will become of order of the day – Ruth 1:15; 2 Tim. 4:10
- Barrenness will set in – both spiritual and physical – John 15:4-8
- Balanced Christian living will become a mirage – Phil. 4:8
- Beauty of being in Christ will be lost totally – Hosea 4:17; 7:8-10
Conclusion: No matter what you are going through even when you find yourself in a thick darkness without no hope of a glimpse of light be rest assure that Jesus Christ the present help in the time of trouble will surely show up God will never fail you. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Cor. 15:58
