TOPIC: WALKING WITH GOD (PART 2)

 TEXT: GENESIS 17:1-2

 INTRODUCTION: The quality of life you live is determined by the quality of your walk with God.  You can’t walk with God and not walk with good.  All those who walk with God always experience His goodness in life.  The journey of life becomes easy when we walk with the one who knows the route best. Walking with God is the best way to pass through this earth.  It is safest means of travelling through life.  The times we are in calls for a quality walk with God.  There is a need for each man to enter into partnership with God for the realization of his dreams for the year ahead. Partnering with Him guarantees you a failure free life.  Just as God called Abraham into a walk with Him, He is making a call for you to walk with Him. (Gen. 17:1).

 THE BENEFITS OF WALKING WITH GOD

1.   Impartation of God’s Blessing – When you walk with God, you receive an impartation of blessing.  The blessing that brings all other blessings will be released into your life.  To walk with God is to walk in the covenant of increase and multiplication.  Gen. 17:2; Gen. 22:17

2.   Prosperity in Your Work – When you walk with God, He prospers your work.  You can’t live a life of insufficiency while walking with All-sufficient One. If you desire to enjoy good things in life, you must learn how to walk with God. Ps 1:1-3

3.   You Will Enjoy Divine Direction –Those who walk with God never stumble in life.  There are many things we don’t understand about life.  By walking with God, we receive divine direction to help us avoid distraction. Walk with Him, and you will get to your destination.  PS 25:12; Isa 30:21. You can’t be a leader if God is not leading you. Rom. 8:14

4.   He Will Help You Make The Most of Your Life – If you make the most of your life, you get the most out your life. To make the most of your life, you need to walk with the One who gives life and He is Life by Himself. The difference between Enoch and Methuselah was not their age difference but their walk with God. Gen. 5:24; Gen. 5:23-27.  Life is measured by it’s donation not by it’s duration.

5.   Gates Will Open For You – When you walk with God, doors of opportunity that are closed will open for you.  The gates of God’s goodness will become accessible to you.  You can’t be walking with Him and not be a superstar. He’s the Door, therefore no devil can shut Him up or down and out. Ps 24:7-10

6.   You Will Experience Fullness Of Joy – You don’t have to live a life of sorrow.  God’s joy is available for you. You can cease from pressure and enter a life of pleasure by walking with God. Ps 16:11; Isa. 51:11; Job 36:11.

7.   You Receive The Finishing Grace – There is purpose for everyone.  But it is not all men who finish their course gracefully.  Those who walk with God not only find their purpose in life, they also finished it well. Paul and Peter finished their courses well but Saul the king finished his course in disgrace because he failed to walk with God.  2 Timothy 4:6-8
