Topic: ABIDE IN GOD
Text: JOHN 15:5
Introduction: Today, many claimed to be children of God with no specific evidence. To abide means to stay, dwell or remain. To abide in a house, you need to locate the house. You must seek the place. To abide in God, I must seek God -Ps.34:10; Heb.11:6.
God rewards diligent seekers. – If I seek the Lord, I won’t lack any good thing – Matt.7:7-8, If I seek, I will find. If I seek the house, I will find it. – God can be found if we seek Him early – Isaiah 55:6; Matt.6:33, Prov.8:17
After finding the house, you must knock. When you knock, the door has to be opened – Matt.7:7-8; Rev.3:7-8; Ps.34:8.
Dwelling in God assures us of some things: – Divine goodness – Ps.23:6; – Mercy, Rom.9:15-16. – Divine partnership; Rom.8:31; Luke 5:1-7.
Just one contact with God, the lame man at Beautiful gate was healed, his handicap ended; Acts 3:1-11; Mk.5:25-34; Mk.10:46-52. A contact with God can bring healing. The lame man walked, made progress. One contact, enemy can’t catch up with you – 1 Kings 18:46. He was leaping, moving forward – rapid promotion; 1 Sam.16:11-13.
Hannah had a contact with God, she got additional 3boys and 2girls added to Samuel – 1 Sam.2:21.
A contact with God turn the lame man to a wonder – Acts 3:10. The lame man was praising God. Acts 3:9;
The man that was born blind saw as a result of one contact with God – John 9: 1-25.
When you choose to abide in God: – You will have a new beginning – 2 kings 4:8-17; – Poverty will seize – 1 kings 17:8-17.
To abide in God, you must; – study the word of God for divine approval – 2 Tim.2:15. – Meditate on His word – Josh.1:8; Ps.1:1-3. – Be doer of God’s word – Jam.1:22
You want promotion, draw near to God. You want to be fruitful, abide in God. Joh.15:5; Num.23:19; Lam.3:22-25.
