Topic: THE ALL KNOWING GOD
Text: 1 KINGS 17:8-16
Introduction: God knows everything long before they become an event. He knows you and what He wants to accomplish in you and through your life. He has programmed things in a way that His name alone will be glorified – Acts 15:18, Eph.1:3-4. God knows what you are passing through because nothing is hidden from Him and He can’t be taken by surprise – Ps.139:1-4. He is sovereign and He decides what to be done and when to do it – Ps.115:3. His timing to show up is always perfect – not too early or late.
In 1 Kings 17:8-16; He showed up and sustained a widow in Zarephat during famine. She was well nourished while others were getting leaner.
POINTS
1. There is somebody somewhere in the world today that is desperately in need of help. This widow was one of such desperate people. Ps.46:1
Whenever the All Knowing God wants to send help to anyone in serious need, He will use one person. There is someone somewhere in the world that is in desperate need of help today, and that person is waiting for you.
Elijah, the woman and her son ate throughout the period of that famine.
2. Anyone that is helping others is helping himself. Matt.5:7; Gal.6:7-8.
In ministering to others, you are ministering to yourself. Learn to help others.
This woman made a sacrifice – releasing her last food.
3. The life of any true child of God must be that of sacrifice – Rom.12:1.
Jesus lived a sacrificial life and left an example for us to follow.
