Faithfulness is a powerful force in the Kingdom of God. God’s faithfulness never fails even when we are not faithful to Him. The faithfulness of God is the integrity of God. (Lam. 3:22-23). God expects us to be faithful in all that we do both spiritually and physically. We must bear in mind that we are going to give account of our stewardship to God at the end of our lives. (Parable of talents – Matt. 25:14:30)
- A. WHAT IS FAITHFULNESS? 1 CORINTHIANS 4:2
- Faithfulness could simply mean to show reliability, loyalty, dependability and trustworthiness.
- Faithfulness means to be passionate without turning off; committed without counting the cost on your life (The mighty men of David – 2 Sam. 23:15-16)
2Sa 23:15 And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!
2Sa 23:16 And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.
Faithfulness could also mean to show firmness; steadiness; steadfastness; and fidelity (Elisha following Elijah – 2 Kings 2:1-15)
However, faithfulness is a state of being loyal, reliable, committed, steadfast, passionate, accountable, dependable and trustworthy.
B. WHY DO WE NEED TO BE FAITHFUL?
A. God is faithful – Lam 3:22 It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. Lam 3:23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
B. God commanded us to be faithful – Luk 16:10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. Luk 16:11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? Luk 16:12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own? Luk 16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
C. God only rewards the faithful while the unfaithful are cast out. Matt. 25:34; Luke 19:17
Mat 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Luk 19:17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.
D. God’s presence and eyes are always on the faithful – Ps 101:6; Ps 89:24,33
Psa 101:6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.
Psa 89:33 Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.
Faithfulness is your gateway to inherit the Kingdom of God – Rapture is a reward to saints not a benefit for being saved. Mat 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
E. Faithfulness secures your future on earth and with God. Matt. 25:20-28 Faithfulness will make you to abide till the end and help you to survive any satanic holocaust unleashing against the inhabitant of the earth. Rev 17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
F. God doesn’t reward eye-service or service that doesn’t come from the deepest part of your hear. Eph. 6:6-8
Eph 6:6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; Eph 6:7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: Eph 6:8 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
Conclusion, it doesn’t matter who you are or become in the walks of life, we shall stand before God to give account of our stewardship to Him. 1 Cor. 4:2 “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful”
